The TEACHING IS IMAGINATIVE AND CREATIVE. DEDICATED TEACHERS CREATE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES WITH AN ATMOSPHERE OF WARMTH AND ENCOURAGEMENT.
The Early Years at Garden House offers a wonderful introduction to the magic and excitement of school life and the wealth of opportunities for the children to explore and enjoy at Garden House and beyond.
The majority of children join Garden House in Preparatory when they are four, going on five years old. About one fifth of our children join in Kindergarten when they are three years old. Preparatory is based in the main school building, while Kindergarten occupies its own premises. From Preparatory onwards, the children are taught in single sex classes but with plenty of opportunities to come together during the school day.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum encompassing the seven areas of learning: Communication and Language, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, and Physical Development. All areas are taught by dedicated and enthusiastic teachers, inspiring the children to be curious and nurturing independent thinking. Sports, French, Music, Ballet and Drama are taught by specialist staff. The staff/pupil ratio is excellent.
We place an emphasis on kindness, offering a safe and inspiring environment in which to start the school journey. Each child is able to grow in confidence and independence at a pace which suits them.
