Florence Morrissey folk music singer, songwriter, GHS 1998 to 2006

Florence Clémentine nee Morrissey attended Garden House School from 1998 to 2006. Flo Morrissey is a successful singer songwriter with two albums to her name. Flo is married to British singer songwriter Benjamin Clementine and has two children, the first a son was born on his mother’s birthday, Christmas Day.

Florence is the eldest of nine brothers and sisters, most of whom attended Garden House School. Flo is the daughter of Dame Helena Morrissey, a City figure and Dame Commander of the British Empire and Richard a former financial journalist, who met at Cambridge University. Flo discovered an interest in folk music at an early age and began writing her own songs at the age of fourteen. After Garden House, she attended Heathfield School followed by St James’s Senior School in Hammersmith. Deciding from an early age her direction in life, Flo studied music at the BRIT School of Performing Arts and Technology.

Flo recorded her debut album at the age of 20 in Los Angeles after releasing a successful single and being signed to Glassnote Records. The album Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful was released to critical acclaim in June 2015. Flo has performed at festivals including Glastonbury 2015. Being a modern success, Flo has 27.5k followers of her Instagram account. In 2017, Flo released an album of covers with Matthew E. White entitled Gentlewoman, Ruby Man.

Flo’s daughter was born in 2019 and named Helena after her mother.
